TPS62148RGX

The TPS62148RGX from Texas Instruments is a 2A synchronous step-down converter with a fixed 1.15V output in a 10-pin 3x2mm VQFN package. Using TI’s DCS-Control topology, it achieves fast transient response while maintaining very low 17uA operating quiescent current. The 2.25MHz switching frequency allows small external inductors. Operating from 3V to 17V input, it is ideal for 12V to 1.15V and 5V to 1.15V point-of-load conversion. A 100% duty cycle mode provides the lowest possible dropout voltage.

The TPS62148 uses TI’s proprietary DCS-Control topology combining voltage-mode and current-mode advantages. A fast voltage feedback loop directly controls the output voltage, while internal current feedback provides cycle-by-cycle current limiting and smooth PWM/PFM mode transition. In PWM mode at moderate-to-heavy loads, the device switches at approximately 2.25MHz. In PFM mode at light loads, switching frequency is reduced to maintain efficiency. The 100% duty cycle mode turns on the high-side MOSFET continuously when VIN approaches VOUT, minimizing dropout.
