The TLV320AIC3104IRHBT from Texas Instruments is a low-power stereo audio codec with 24-bit ADC and DAC in a VQFN-32 (5x5mm) package. The ADC provides 92dB SNR and the DAC provides 102dB SNR with sample rates from 8kHz to 96kHz. An integrated PLL generates internal clocks from various external clock sources. The device includes an integrated headphone amplifier capable of 30mW into 32Ohm, programmable biquad filters for equalization, and dynamic range control. Multiple analog inputs with mixer and programmable gain support various microphone and line-level configurations. Power consumption is only 14mW in playback mode at 48kHz. Control is via SPI or I2C, and audio data uses I2S format.

The TLV320AIC3104IRHBT integrates a complete audio signal chain. (1) ADC: A multi-bit sigma-delta ADC with decimation filter converts analog input to 24-bit digital data at up to 96kHz. The ADC includes programmable gain amplifier (PGA) with 0-59.5dB range in 0.5dB steps. (2) DAC: A multi-bit sigma-delta DAC with interpolation filter converts 24-bit digital data to analog. The DAC includes digital volume control and programmable biquad filters for equalization. (3) PLL: An integrated PLL generates all internal clock frequencies from a single external MCLK or BCLK input, eliminating the need for multiple crystal oscillators. (4) Headphone Amplifier: A class-AB amplifier drives stereo headphones directly without external amplifier IC. (5) DSP: Programmable processing includes 3D sound enhancement, biquad filters, and dynamic range compression for speaker protection.
