The TLV2252AQDRQ1 from Texas Instruments is a dual rail-to-rail input/output CMOS operational amplifier qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 1 for automotive applications. The 55 uA per channel quiescent current makes it one of the lowest-power automotive-qualified dual op-amps, suitable for always-on sensor interfaces. The 507 kHz gain-bandwidth product at 5V provides adequate bandwidth for most sensor conditioning and filtering applications. The rail-to-rail input and output swing maximizes dynamic range in low-voltage systems. The 1 pA typical input bias current is ideal for high-impedance sensor interfaces such as photodiodes and pH probes. The Q1 suffix indicates full AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualification with enhanced ESD protection (4 kV HBM), making it suitable for under-hood automotive applications up to 125C.

The TLV2252AQDRQ1 uses a CMOS input stage with a folded-cascode architecture that provides rail-to-rail input common-mode range. The input stage uses complementary N-channel and P-channel differential pairs in parallel: when the input voltage is near the negative rail, the P-channel pair is active; near the positive rail, the N-channel pair is active; in the middle, both pairs contribute. This achieves continuous rail-to-rail operation. The 1 pA input bias current is a characteristic of the CMOS input gate, which draws only the leakage current of the input ESD protection diodes. The 55 uA quiescent current is set by the internal bias network. The 507 kHz GBW is the product of the open-loop gain and the -3 dB frequency, determined by the compensation capacitor and the transconductance of the input stage. The rail-to-rail output uses a common-source output stage (not emitter follower), which allows the output to swing within millivolts of both supply rails when lightly loaded.
