The TLIN1029DRQ1 from Texas Instruments is an automotive-qualified LIN transceiver supporting LIN 2.0 through 2.2A and ISO/DIS 17987-4.2. It features dominant state timeout (DTO) protection preventing bus lockup from stuck-dominant conditions. The wide 4V to 36V supply with ±45V bus fault protection provides robust operation. Ultra-low sleep current with both local (EN pin) and remote (LIN bus) wake-up minimizes battery drain.

The TLIN1029 converts between MCU UART signals and LIN bus levels. The transmitter drives the LIN bus through an internal MOSFET. The receiver decodes bus voltages using threshold comparators. In sleep mode, a wake-up detector monitors the bus. The DTO feature monitors TXD, forcing the driver inactive if TXD is held dominant beyond timeout, preventing bus lockup. An integrated 45kΩ pull-up resistor with series diode supports slave node configurations.
