The STM32L051K6T6 is an ultra-low-power microcontroller from STMicroelectronics based on the ARM Cortex-M0+ 32-bit RISC core operating at up to 32MHz. It integrates 32KB Flash with ECC, 8KB SRAM, and 2KB true data EEPROM with ECC, eliminating the need for Flash-based EEPROM emulation. The device features a 12-bit ADC with 1.14 Msps and hardware oversampling, two ultra-low-power comparators with window mode, a low-power timer (LPTIM) that operates in Stop mode, and standard communication interfaces including 2 USART, 2 SPI, and 2 I2C. With 88µA/MHz in Run mode, 0.4µA in Stop mode, and 0.27µA in Standby mode, the STM32L051K6 is optimized for battery-powered and energy-harvesting applications.

The STM32L051K6T6 uses ST’s ultra-low-power platform with multiple power domains and a flexible clock system. The Cortex-M0+ core executes a 2-stage pipeline with 0.95 DMIPS/MHz efficiency. The internal voltage regulator adapts the core voltage based on the operating mode, minimizing power consumption. The 7 clock sources include a 16MHz HSI RC (±1% factory-trimmed), 32kHz LSE crystal, 37kHz LSI RC, and a multispeed MSI RC (65kHz to 4.2MHz) that provides low-power clocking without external components. The LPTIM can be clocked from the LSE or LSI and count events while the CPU is in Stop mode, enabling periodic wakeup without CPU intervention. The true EEPROM uses a separate charge pump and erase/write controller, supporting byte-level operations with 100k cycle endurance and ECC protection. The ADC uses a successive approximation architecture with hardware oversampling that can accumulate up to 256 samples, improving effective resolution to 16 bits for low-speed signals. The programmable voltage detector (PVD) monitors VDD and generates an interrupt when it drops below the selected threshold, enabling safe shutdown.
