The STM32F429ZGT6 from STMicroelectronics is a high-performance ARM Cortex-M4 microcontroller with hardware floating-point unit (FPU), running at up to 180 MHz and delivering 225 DMIPS. The device features 1 MB dual-bank Flash memory and 256 KB SRAM including 64 KB of core-coupled memory (CCM) for time-critical data. The integrated LCD-TFT display controller supports resolutions up to XGA (1024×768) with a dedicated Chrom-ART Accelerator (DMA2D) that offloads 2D graphics operations from the CPU, doubling graphics throughput. The Flexible Memory Controller (FMC) supports SDRAM, SRAM, PSRAM, NOR, NAND, and Compact Flash for external memory expansion. Three 12-bit ADCs at 2.4 MSPS (7.2 MSPS in triple interleaved mode) and two 12-bit DACs provide analog capability. Advanced connectivity includes USB 2.0 HS/FS OTG, 10/100 Ethernet MAC with IEEE 1588v2, camera interface, and up to 21 communication interfaces. The ART Accelerator enables zero-wait-state execution from Flash at 180 MHz.

The STM32F429ZGT6 uses the ARM Cortex-M4F core with single-precision floating-point unit (FPU) that accelerates floating-point calculations in control algorithms and digital signal processing. The ART (Adaptive Real-Time) Accelerator is an instruction prefetch queue with branch cache that eliminates Flash wait states, allowing the CPU to execute from Flash at the full 180 MHz without performance penalty. The AHB bus matrix connects the core to Flash, SRAM, CCM, FMC, and DMA controllers, while APB bridges connect to peripherals. The LCD-TFT controller has its own DMA (DMA2D/Chrom-ART) that can perform 2D memory-to-memory transfers, image blending, and pixel format conversion independently of the CPU. The FMC provides a configurable external bus interface with timing generators for SDRAM (up to 90 MHz clock), SRAM, and NOR Flash. The 16-stream DMA controller with FIFO and burst support handles peripheral-to-memory transfers without CPU intervention. Power management includes Sleep, Stop, and Standby modes with a backup domain (VBAT) preserving RTC and 4 KB backup SRAM.
