The RXEF110-2 from TE Connectivity/Littelfuse is a radial-leaded PTC resettable fuse with 1.1A hold, 2.2A trip, 72V rating, and UL/CSA/TUV/CQC approvals for overcurrent protection.

The PolySwitch PTC device uses a conductive polymer composite that maintains low resistance under normal operating current. When an overcurrent condition occurs, the resulting Joule heating raises the polymer temperature above its glass transition point, causing thermal expansion that separates the conductive carbon black pathways. This increases resistance by several orders of magnitude, limiting the fault current to a safe level. When the fault is removed and the device cools, the conductive paths reform and the device resets to its low-resistance state.
