The NCP186AMX330TAG is a 150mA ultra-low quiescent current LDO regulator from onsemi with a fixed 3.3V output and 40V maximum input voltage. Drawing only 1.5µA of quiescent current, it is designed for always-on automotive and battery-powered systems where minimizing standby power consumption is critical. The device features 70dB PSRR and 30µVrms output noise, providing a clean supply for sensitive analog and RF circuits. The XDFN-4 package (1.2×1.2mm) offers an extremely small footprint for space-constrained designs.

The NCP186AMX330TAG operates as a series-pass linear regulator using a P-channel MOSFET as the pass element. The error amplifier compares a fraction of the output voltage with an internal bandgap reference (3.3V), driving the gate of the pass transistor to maintain regulation. The ultra-low 1.5µA quiescent current is achieved through a specialized bias circuit that minimizes internal current consumption while maintaining regulation accuracy. The high PSRR (70dB @1kHz) is provided by the high loop gain of the error amplifier. The device includes current limiting and thermal shutdown for fault protection.
