The MSP430F5419AIPZR is a Texas Instruments 16-bit ultra-low-power mixed-signal microcontroller featuring 128 KB Flash, 16 KB SRAM, and a powerful 12-bit ADC with 14 external channels and autoscan capability. It includes up to four USCI modules supporting UART, SPI, and I2C, three 16-bit timers, a hardware multiplier supporting 32-bit operations, a 3-channel DMA controller, and an RTC with alarm capabilities. The device operates from 1.8 V to 3.6 V at up to 25 MHz, with ultra-low standby current of 1.7 µA in LPM3 and 3.5 µs wakeup time. An integrated LDO with programmable core voltage optimizes power efficiency across operating modes.

The MSP430F5419A operates with multiple subsystems: (1) The 16-bit RISC CPU executes instructions efficiently with 16-bit registers and constant generators. The digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) allows 3.5 µs wakeup from low-power modes. (2) The unified clock system provides FLL-stabilized MCLK, SMCLK, and ACLK from internal VLO, REFO, or external crystals up to 32 MHz. (3) The power management system includes an integrated LDO with programmable core voltage, supply voltage supervision, and brownout protection. (4) The 12-bit ADC uses a SAR architecture with internal reference, sample-and-hold, and autoscan for autonomous multi-channel conversion. (5) Four USCI modules provide flexible serial communication (UART/IrDA/SPI/I2C). Multiple low-power modes (LPM0-LPM4.5) minimize current consumption for battery-powered applications.
