The LTR-329ALS-01 from Lite-On is a 16-bit ambient light sensor with I2C interface, automatic full-scale ranging from 1 to 64k lux, and ultra-low 120uA active current in a compact ChipLED package.

The LTR-329ALS-01 uses a photodiode array with multiple spectral response channels to measure ambient light intensity. The photodiode current is converted to digital values by an integrated ADC. Automatic full-scale ranging adjusts the gain setting to optimize resolution across the wide 1-64k lux range without user intervention. The I2C interface provides read access to the 16-bit lux data and configuration registers.
