The ISO7741DWR from Texas Instruments is a quad-channel digital isolator with 5000Vrms reinforced isolation rating in an SOIC-16 package. This is the next-generation successor to the ISO7131CCDBQR, offering improved electromagnetic immunity and lower power consumption. The 3 forward + 1 reverse channel configuration is optimized for SPI bus isolation (SCLK, MOSI, CS forward; MISO reverse) with a single device. The 100 Mbps data rate supports SPI clock frequencies up to 50 MHz. The 10.5 ns typical propagation delay and 2.5 ns maximum pulse width distortion maintain signal integrity for timing-sensitive protocols. The 5000 Vrms isolation and 1200 Vpeak working voltage meet reinforced isolation requirements per IEC 61010-1 and VDE 0884-10. The wide 2.5V to 5.5V supply range on each side supports level translation between different voltage domains. The DWR suffix indicates SOIC-16 package with tape and reel.

The ISO7741DWR uses TI’s second-generation capacitive isolation technology with improved electromagnetic immunity. The isolation barrier consists of silicon dioxide (SiO2) capacitors that provide both galvanic isolation and high-frequency signal coupling. The transmitter modulates the input signal using on-off keying (OOK), and the receiver demodulates it on the other side of the barrier. Compared to the ISO7131 generation, the ISO7741 improves electromagnetic immunity by incorporating a differential receiver architecture that rejects common-mode noise more effectively, particularly during fast transient events (IEC 61000-4-4 EFT). The 100 Mbps data rate is determined by the carrier frequency and modulation bandwidth. The 10.5 ns propagation delay includes the OOK encoding, capacitive coupling through the SiO2 barrier, and demodulation. Each side has independent supply rails, and the device supports supply voltages as low as 2.5V for low-power MCU interfaces.
