The ECS Inc. ECS-080-18-20BM-JEN-TR is a standard SPXO (Simple Packaged Crystal Oscillator) providing a precise 80MHz clock output from a low 1.8V supply. Housed in an ultra-compact 2.0 x 1.6 x 0.65mm ceramic SMD package, this oscillator is designed for space-constrained applications requiring high-frequency clock generation. The AT-cut quartz crystal resonator ensures ±20ppm frequency stability over the -20°C to +70°C operating range. The CMOS-compatible output provides 45-55% duty cycle symmetry with fast 3ns rise/fall times, making it suitable for driving high-speed digital logic. The JEN-TR designation specifies the 1.8V, ±20ppm, tape-and-reel configuration for automated PCB assembly.

The ECS-080 oscillator uses an AT-cut quartz crystal resonator as the frequency-determining element, operating in its fundamental or overtone thickness-shear mode at 80MHz. An internal sustaining amplifier compensates for energy losses in the crystal, maintaining stable oscillation. Automatic gain control ensures consistent output amplitude while preventing crystal overdrive.
