The BTS452T from Infineon Technologies is a Classic PROFET 24V miniPROFET smart high-side power switch designed for 24V automotive and truck applications. It integrates a vertical power MOSFET with 150 mOhm on-resistance and comprehensive protection functions. Unlike the BTS452R, this variant does not include a diagnostic status (ST) feedback pin, instead providing pin 4 as no-connect (NC). The device features overload protection, current limitation, short circuit protection, thermal shutdown with automatic restart, overvoltage clamping including load dump, and fast inductive load demagnetization. It is RoHS compliant and qualified for automotive applications.

The BTS452T integrates a vertical N-channel power MOSFET with a charge pump gate driver for high-side switching capability. The charge pump generates gate voltage above the supply rail. Protection circuits include current limiting during overload, thermal shutdown with hysteresis, and overvoltage clamping. The output clamp circuit provides fast demagnetization of inductive loads by clamping the output when the switch turns off. An internal level shifter translates CMOS-compatible input signals to the high-side domain. The device operates with very low standby current when the input is low, making it suitable for always-on battery-connected applications in commercial vehicles.
