The ADG1419BRMZ-REEL7 is an Analog Devices iCMOS single-pole double-throw (SPDT) analog switch in an 8-lead MSOP package. The SPDT configuration provides one normally-open (NO) and one normally-closed (NC) switch path, making it a direct solid-state replacement for electromechanical Form C relays. The ultra-low 1.5 ohm typical on-resistance minimizes signal attenuation and voltage drop in precision signal paths. The iCMOS process enables +/-15V dual supply operation for full analog signal range. The 20pC charge injection is among the lowest for this class, minimizing offset errors in sampled-data systems such as sample-and-hold circuits and integrators. The 210MHz bandwidth supports high-frequency signal routing. Break-before-make switching prevents momentary shorting between the NO and NC paths during transitions. The low on-resistance flatness (0.1 ohm typical) ensures minimal distortion across the signal range. Packaged in 8-lead MSOP rated for -40C to +125C.

The ADG1419 contains a single SPDT switch implemented with two CMOS transmission gates sharing a common drain (D) terminal. One transmission gate connects D to S1 (normally-open path), and the other connects D to S2 (normally-closed path). The IN control pin determines which path is active: when IN is high, D connects to S1; when IN is low, D connects to S2. Each transmission gate consists of parallel NMOS and PMOS transistors for rail-to-rail signal capability. The iCMOS process with thick-gate-oxide transistors allows +/-15V supply operation while maintaining low on-resistance. Break-before-make logic ensures a brief dead time (both paths open) during switching, preventing signal feedthrough between S1 and S2. The 1.5 ohm on-resistance is achieved through large MOSFET channel geometries and optimized process doping. Charge injection occurs during switching as clock feedthrough from the gate to the channel through parasitic overlap capacitance.
