The ADG1412YRUZ from Analog Devices is a quad SPST switch fabricated in iCMOS (industrial CMOS) process technology that combines high-voltage CMOS and bipolar technology. The device features 1.5 Ohm typical on-resistance with exceptional flatness of 0.3 Ohm across the analog input range, ensuring excellent linearity and low distortion when switching signals. Channel-to-channel on-resistance matching of 0.1 Ohm makes the device ideal for differential signal routing where balanced paths are critical. The ADG1412 switches are turned on by logic 1 on the control inputs (complement of ADG1411). The device operates from dual supplies of +/-5V to +/-15V or a single +12V supply, with 3V logic-compatible digital inputs that do not require a separate VL supply. Rail-to-rail signal handling allows the full supply range to be used for analog signals. The ultra-low charge injection of -20pC and 550pA off-leakage minimize signal perturbation during switching. AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.

The ADG1412YRUZ is a quad single-pole single-throw (SPST) analog switch using iCMOS technology. (1) Switch Structure: Each channel consists of a series N-channel and P-channel MOSFET pair connected in parallel. When the control input is logic high, both MOSFETs are turned on, providing a low-impedance path between the source (S) and drain (D) terminals. The parallel N+P structure ensures low and flat on-resistance across the entire analog signal range from VSS to VDD. (2) On-Resistance: The 1.5 Ohm typical Ron is achieved by using large-geometry MOSFETs in the iCMOS process. The 0.3 Ohm flatness results from the complementary N+P structure, where the Ron increase of one MOSFET type is compensated by the decrease of the other as the analog signal varies. (3) Charge Injection: The -20pC charge injection occurs when the gate capacitance of the switching MOSFETs couples charge into the analog signal path during switching transitions. Low charge injection minimizes voltage glitches on the analog signal. (4) Bidirectional: When on, the switch conducts equally well in both directions, allowing use as a multiplexer or signal router.
