The ADP2301AUJZ-R2 is a 1.2A step-down DC/DC regulator from Analog Devices featuring a wide 3.0V to 20V input range and adjustable output voltage down to 0.8V. Operating at a fixed 1.4MHz switching frequency, the device requires only four external components (input capacitor, output capacitor, inductor, and feedback resistors) for a complete step-down regulator solution. The TSOT-23 package minimizes board space while the internal compensation and soft-start simplify design.

The ADP2301 uses a current-mode PWM control architecture with integrated power MOSFET switches. At load currents above the pulse-skip threshold, the device operates in fixed-frequency PWM mode for low output ripple and high efficiency. At light loads, it automatically transitions to pulse-skip mode, reducing switching losses and improving efficiency. The internal soft-start prevents inrush current during startup. The precision enable pin with a 1.2V threshold allows programmable UVLO using a resistor divider from VIN.
