The ADG706BRUZ from Analog Devices is a 16-channel monolithic CMOS analog multiplexer in a TSSOP-28 package. The device switches one of sixteen inputs to a common output as determined by 4-bit binary address lines A0-A3. The 2.5 Ohm typical on-resistance and 1pC charge injection make it ideal for precision sampling and measurement applications where signal integrity is critical. Operating from 1.8V to 5.5V single supply, the device is designed for low-voltage portable and battery-powered systems. The 0.5nA off-leakage and 200MHz bandwidth support precision and wideband signal routing. Break-before-make switching prevents momentary channel-to-channel shorting during transitions.

The ADG706BRUZ uses a low-voltage CMOS process optimized for precision analog switching. (1) Switch Core: Each of the sixteen channels contains a CMOS transmission gate using complementary N and P-channel MOSFETs. The parallel NMOS/PMOS combination provides low and flat on-resistance across the full analog input range. (2) Address Decoding: A 4-to-16 line decoder translates A0-A3 address inputs into one-of-sixteen channel select signals. The EN input gates the decoder, disabling all channels when low. (3) Charge Injection: The 1pC charge injection is minimized through symmetrical switch geometry and complementary drive signals that cancel injection from the NMOS and PMOS gates. (4) Break-Before-Make: Internal delay ensures the previously selected channel turns off before the new channel turns on.
