The ADG1404YRUZ from Analog Devices is a 4-channel single-pole, four-throw (SP4T) analog multiplexer built on the iCMOS (industrial CMOS) process. The iCMOS process combines high-voltage DMOS switches with low-power CMOS logic, enabling +/-15V analog signal handling with the low on-resistance and low charge injection of modern switch architectures. The 3.5 ohm typical on-resistance is an order of magnitude lower than the ADG508A (280 ohm), dramatically reducing signal distortion in precision applications. The 0.3 pC charge injection minimizes voltage glitches when switching, preserving signal integrity in sample-and-hold circuits. The 800 MHz bandwidth supports video and RF signal routing. The TSSOP-16 package provides a compact footprint with the Y grade temperature range of -40C to +125C.

The ADG1404YRUZ uses the iCMOS (industrial CMOS) process to achieve low on-resistance with high-voltage signal handling. Each switch consists of parallel N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs (transmission gate) that provide a relatively constant on-resistance across the full +/-15V analog signal range. The 3.5 ohm RON is achieved through a large switch area with optimized doping profiles, trading die size for low resistance. The 0.3 pC charge injection results from the careful balancing of the N and P channel gate charges, which partially cancel when the switch transitions. The break-before-make switching action prevents momentary channel-to-channel shorts. The 2-bit address selects one of four channels, with the EN pin enabling or disabling the device. The 80 ns tON and 50 ns tOFF enable fast scanning of analog signals.
