The ADG1209YRUZ-REEL7 is an Analog Devices iCMOS 4-channel differential multiplexer. It switches one of four differential inputs to a common differential output as determined by 2-bit address lines A0 and A1. The iCMOS manufacturing process combines high-voltage CMOS and bipolar technologies, enabling 33 V operation with dramatically lower power consumption than conventional CMOS. With less than 1 pC charge injection and 1 pF off capacitance, it is ideal for data acquisition and sample-and-hold applications where low glitch and fast settling are critical. The device is packaged in a 16-lead TSSOP.

The ADG1209 operates as a 4:1 differential multiplexer with two subsystems: (1) The address decoder logic interprets the 2-bit address (A0, A1) and enable (EN) inputs to select one of four differential switch pairs. Break-before-make switching prevents momentary short circuits between channels. (2) The iCMOS switch core uses complementary N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs to achieve rail-to-rail signal handling. The on-resistance of 120 Ω is relatively flat across the signal range. The ultralow charge injection (<1 pC) and off capacitance (1 pF) minimize settling errors in sample-and-hold and data acquisition circuits. When EN is low, all switches are off with typical power consumption below 0.03 µW.
