The Molex 76990-5020 is a 150-position right-angle orthogonal daughtercard receptacle from the Impact™ backplane connector system, designed for 25 Gbps high-speed differential signaling. With 50 differential pairs arranged in a 5×10 column configuration, this connector provides 100Ω controlled impedance for superior signal integrity in data center and telecom applications. The press-fit compliant pins enable solderless PCB attachment, reducing assembly cost and enabling rework capability. The Impact system is scalable across data rates from 3 to 25 Gbps, providing design flexibility across product generations.

The Impact 76990-5020 connector uses precision-stamped and formed female socket contacts that engage with corresponding male pin contacts in the mating backplane header. Each differential pair is carefully designed with controlled geometry to maintain 100Ω differential impedance throughout the signal path, minimizing reflections and crosstalk at 25 Gbps data rates. The press-fit compliant pins use a compliant section that cold-forms into the PCB plated through-hole, creating a reliable gas-tight electrical connection without solder.
