The 6N136SMT/R is a 1Mbps high-speed phototransistor optocoupler with 19-50% CTR, 5000Vrms isolation, and superior CMR in a surface-mount DIP-8 package for digital signal isolation.

The 6N136 uses an AlGaAs LED optically coupled to a high-speed photodetector with separate bias connection. The photodiode detects the LED light and drives the output transistor base through an internal amplifier, achieving much higher speed than conventional phototransistor optocouplers. The separate VCC and base connections reduce base-collector capacitance, enabling 1Mbps data rates. An internal noise shield provides superior common mode rejection.
