The 3224W-1-103E from Bourns is a 10kOhm, 0.25W, 12-turn cermet trimmer potentiometer in a J-lead surface-mount package. The 10kOhm resistance value is one of the most commonly used trimmer values, ideal for feedback divider networks, gain setting, and threshold adjustment in a wide range of analog circuits. The 12-turn resolution provides approximately 833 Ohms per turn for precise calibration. The cermet resistive element ensures excellent stability with less than 2% resistance change after extended operation. The sealed construction prevents contamination during soldering and washing. The top-adjustment design with J-lead configuration supports standard SMT assembly and accessible post-assembly tuning. The -55C to +125C operating temperature range covers industrial and automotive requirements.

The 3224W-1-103E uses the same cermet trimmer technology as the 3224W-1-102E but with a 10kOhm resistive track. (1) Cermet Element: The ceramic-metal composite thick film provides 10kOhm total resistance with +/-10% tolerance. The higher resistance value is achieved by adjusting the cermet composition and track geometry during manufacturing. (2) Multiturn: 12 full rotations provide fine adjustment resolution of approximately 833 Ohms per turn, enabling precise calibration of feedback dividers and gain networks. (3) Wiper: The precious metal wiper maintains consistent contact resistance across the full travel range, ensuring stable wiper-to-end resistance values. (4) Sealed: The O-ring seal protects the internal mechanism from environmental contamination.
