The XTR117AIDGKR is a precision 4-20mA current loop transmitter with an on-chip 5V voltage regulator and 2.5V reference. It converts a voltage input to a proportional current output, making it ideal for industrial two-wire 4-20mA transmitter applications. The on-chip regulator supplies power to external signal conditioning circuitry, while the 2.5V reference provides a stable bias source. The device features high accuracy of +/-0.05%, low quiescent current of 250uA, and high PSRR of 110dB. EMI filtered inputs enhance robustness in noisy industrial environments.

The XTR117 operates as a two-wire current loop transmitter where the loop current itself powers the device and external circuitry. An input voltage applied to the IIN pin is converted to an internal current, which is then amplified by an internal gain stage and combined with the quiescent current to produce the total loop output current. The on-chip voltage regulator generates a stable 5V supply from the loop voltage, powering external sensor conditioning circuits. The 2.5V reference provides a precision bias for bridge sensors or voltage dividers. The open-loop detector monitors the loop integrity and flags faults via the OLR pin.
