The TPS23755RJJR is a Powered Device (PD) controller for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) systems compliant with IEEE 802.3at Type 1 (up to 25.5W). The PD detection sequence: when PSE applies 2.7-10.1V, the TPS23755 presents a 24.9kOhm signature resistance to identify itself as a valid PD. When the PSE raises voltage to 15.5-20.5V for classification, the device draws a specific current (set by VC1/VC2 resistors) to indicate its power requirement. After classification, the PSE ramps voltage to 48V, and the TPS23755 drives the GATE pin to turn on an external N-channel MOSFET, connecting the PoE input (VDD1-RTN) to the DC-DC converter input. An internal current limit protects against inrush current during hot-swap. The CTR pin provides a current-limit reference for the downstream DC-DC converter, and the PG pin signals when the output is valid.
