The MBRS260T3G from onsemi is a 2 A, 60 V Schottky barrier rectifier in the SMC (DO-214AB) surface-mount package. The Schottky barrier provides low forward voltage drop of 0.55 V typical at 2 A, significantly lower than P-N junction rectifiers. Majority carrier conduction eliminates minority carrier storage, resulting in zero reverse recovery time, making the device ideal for high-frequency switching applications up to several hundred kHz.

The MBRS260T3G uses a metal-silicon Schottky barrier junction instead of a conventional P-N junction. The lower barrier height results in low forward voltage drop (0.55 V vs 0.7-1.0V for silicon P-N). Majority carrier conduction means no stored minority carriers, giving zero reverse recovery time. The guard ring structure prevents edge breakdown and improves ruggedness.
