The M25P16-VMN6PBA from ST is a 16Mbit serial Flash memory with SPI interface, 75MHz clock, and sector/sub-sector erase in SOIC-8 for code and data storage.

The M25P16-VMN6PBA is a 16Mbit (2MB) SPI NOR Flash memory from STMicroelectronics in SOIC-8 208mil. Memory is organized as 32 sectors of 512KB each, with each sector containing 256 pages of 256 bytes. The SPI interface supports clock rates up to 75MHz in standard mode. Write operations: the Write Enable (WREN) command must precede any write. Page Program (PP) writes up to 256 bytes in one operation. Sector Erase (SE) clears a 512KB sector in approximately 1.5s; Bulk Erase (BE) clears the entire chip in approximately 25s. The Write Protect (W) pin combined with Status Register block protect bits prevents accidental erasure of critical data. The Hold (HOLD) pin pauses serial communication without deselecting the device, useful for shared SPI buses. Deep Power-Down mode reduces current to 5uA. The device supports 100,000 erase/program cycles per sector with 20-year data retention.
