The VN5050AJTR-E from ST is a single-channel OmniPROM high-side driver with 40V 5A rating, analog current sense, and thermal protection in PowerSSO-12 for automotive loads.

The VN5050AJTR-E is a single-channel OmniPROM high-side driver from ST in PowerSSO-12, rated at 40V and 5A with 50mOhm RDS(on). It integrates an N-channel vertical power MOSFET with charge-pump gate driver, current sense, and comprehensive protection in a single die. The charge pump generates a gate voltage above VS to fully enhance the MOSFET (VG > VS + 5V), enabling low RDS(on) operation from a 5.5-36V supply. The INPUT pin controls the MOSFET gate through a level shifter: HIGH turns on, LOW turns off. The CS (Current Sense) pin outputs an analog voltage proportional to load current with ratio 1/2350 (ICS = IOUT/2350), allowing the MCU to monitor load current without an external sense resistor. The CS_DIS pin disables the current sense output. Protection includes: over-temperature shutdown with auto-restart at 175C (OT), current limitation at approximately 8A, and load dump protection up to 41V. The device is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.
