The TPS2001CDGNR from TI is a current-limited power distribution switch for USB and peripheral power applications. Features 72mOhm N-channel MOSFET rated for 2A with precise 2.9A current limit. Active-high enable with integrated output discharge (470 Ohm). Reverse current blocking prevents backfeed. Fast 2us overcurrent response. HVSSOP-8 package with exposed thermal pad.

Uses high-side N-channel MOSFET driven by internal charge pump. When EN is high, MOSFET turns on connecting IN to OUT. Sense FET monitors current; above 2.9A threshold, constant-current mode engages. FLT open-drain output asserts low after 10ms deglitch on overcurrent. When disabled, 470 Ohm discharge resistor pulls OUT to GND. Reverse current blocking disables switch when VOUT > VIN.
