The STM32L431RBI is an ultra-low-power ARM Cortex-M4 MCU from ST running at 80MHz with 128KB Flash and 64KB SRAM in LQFP-64. The Cortex-M4F core includes a single-precision FPU and DSP instructions (MAC, SAT, SIMD). The L4 series achieves ultra-low power through multiple techniques: 1) A 40nm low-leakage process with optimized standard cells; 2) Independent clock domains that can be individually gated; 3) Flexible voltage scaling with Range 1 (1.2V, 80MHz), Range 2 (1.0V, 26MHz), and Low-power run (1.0V, 80kHz); 4) Seven low-power modes from Sleep (8uA) to Shutdown (8nA with RTC). The 12-bit ADC achieves 5.33MSPS in 12-bit mode or 12.4MSPS in 6-bit mode with hardware oversampling up to 256x. Two comparators with window mode enable hardware-level analog monitoring without CPU intervention. The AES-256 hardware accelerator provides symmetric encryption for secure data storage. The LPUART can receive data in Stop 2 mode (800nA) for wake-up on communication. The Quad-SPI interface supports memory-mapped execution from external Flash.
