The SHT30-DIS-B2.5KS from Sensirion is a high-precision digital humidity and temperature sensor built on CMOSens technology. It provides best-in-class accuracy of +/-2% RH and +/-0.3 C in a compact 2.5×2.5mm DFN-8 package with PTFE membrane protection. The I2C interface supports two address options (0x44 or 0x45) for multi-sensor bus configurations. An integrated heater can be activated for dew-point removal or self-test. The sensor is fully calibrated and provides a NIST-traceable digital output, eliminating the need for external signal conditioning.

The SHT30-DIS-B2.5KS uses Sensirion’s CMOSens technology combining a capacitive humidity sensor and a bandgap temperature sensor on a single CMOS chip. **Humidity Sensing**: A polymeric capacitive sensing element absorbs or desorbs water molecules from the ambient air, changing its dielectric constant and thus its capacitance. The change in capacitance is proportional to relative humidity. **Temperature Sensing**: A precision bandgap temperature sensor provides accurate temperature measurement used both as a standalone output and for humidity compensation. **Signal Processing**: The analog signals from both sensors are digitized by internal ADCs and processed by the on-chip DSP. Factory calibration coefficients stored in on-chip OTP memory are applied to produce the final corrected humidity and temperature readings. **Communication**: The I2C interface supports standard mode (100kHz) and fast mode (400kHz). Measurement commands can trigger single-shot or periodic measurements with various repeatability settings (high/medium/low) trading accuracy for power consumption. **Heater**: An integrated resistive heater can evaporate condensation on the sensor surface, important in high-humidity or dew-point applications.
