The RS1-05D05S is a 1W isolated unregulated DC-DC converter module that provides dual ±5V output at ±100 mA from a 5V nominal input. It offers 1000VDC galvanic isolation between input and output, making it ideal for breaking ground loops and providing safety isolation in industrial, telecom, and measurement applications. The compact SIP7 package and continuous short-circuit protection ensure reliable operation in demanding environments.

The RS1-05D05S uses a flyback converter topology with a high-frequency transformer to provide galvanic isolation between input and output. An internal oscillator drives the primary-side switching transistor at 100-300 kHz, generating an AC signal across the transformer. The secondary windings are rectified and filtered to produce the isolated ±5V outputs. Since the converter is unregulated, output voltage varies with input voltage and load. The 1000VDC isolation barrier is achieved through the transformer design and package construction.
