The A3967SLBTR-T is a DMOS microstepping motor driver from Allegro in SOIC-16, designed for bipolar stepper motors at up to 750mA per phase and 30V supply. It integrates two H-bridges using N-channel DMOS output drivers and internal clamp diodes. Microstepping is controlled by MS1/MS2 pins: full-step, half-step, quarter-step, or eighth-step resolution. The internal DACs set the current level for each microstep according to a sine/cosine lookup table. Current regulation uses a fixed-off-time chopper: when the voltage across the sense resistor exceeds the threshold set by VREF and the DAC, the driver turns off for a period set by the external RC network. The STEP/DIR interface simplifies control: each rising edge on STEP advances the motor one microstep in the direction set by DIR. The ENABLE pin turns off all outputs for torque-free positioning. SLEEP mode reduces quiescent current to under 20uA. The internal 3V regulator provides logic supply from the motor supply.
