The Mill-Max 802-80-016-30-001191 is a Series 802 double-row press-fit interconnect header featuring 16 pins (2 x 8) on a 2.54mm grid. The compliant tail pins conform to 1.02mm +/- 0.076mm finished plated through-holes without stressing inner layers, creating a reliable gas-tight connection. The unique compliant pin design features a hollow, slotted tail that closes down and conforms to the hole size, preventing damage during insertion and allowing removal without hole damage. The pins are manufactured from brass with 0.76um gold over nickel plating for excellent corrosion resistance and contact reliability. The high-temperature thermoplastic insulator is compatible with lead-free reflow processes.

The compliant tail has a hollow, slotted design that compresses when inserted into a plated through-hole (0.040 inch +/- 0.003 inch diameter). As the tail enters the hole, the slot closes, creating a gas-tight metal-to-metal contact between the pin barrel and the hole plating. Multiple fine serrations on the tail surface enhance the gas-tight seal. The compliant design tolerates wider hole diameter variations (+/-0.003 inch) compared to non-compliant pins (+/-0.001 inch), simplifying PCB fabrication. The pins can be pressed in and removed without damaging the through-hole, enabling rework.
