The 74AHC1G79GW,125 operates as a positive-edge triggered D-type flip-flop. The device has three pins for logic: D (data input), CP (clock input), and Q (data output). On each rising edge of the CP signal, the logic level present at the D input is captured by the internal master-slave latch and transferred to the Q output. Between clock edges, changes at the D input do not affect the Q output. The flip-flop has no preset or clear inputs; the initial state after power-on is indeterminate. The device is implemented in CMOS technology with a transmission-gate-based master-slave latch structure. The AHC process provides faster switching than standard HC logic with similar power consumption. The +/-8mA output drive at 5V is sufficient for driving multiple CMOS inputs or a short PCB trace.
