The 0451005.MRL from Littelfuse is a 5A 125VAC time-delay (slow-blow) ceramic fuse in 5x20mm package for overcurrent protection with inrush current tolerance.

The 0451005.MRL is a 5A 250VAC slow-blow (time-lag) ceramic fuse from Littelfuse in the standard 5x20mm cylindrical package. The slow-blow characteristic means the fuse can withstand short-duration current surges (such as motor startup inrush or power supply turn-on) without blowing, while still protecting against sustained overcurrent. The time-current characteristic is: 5A (rated) = no blow; 7.5A (150%) = blows in >60 seconds; 10A (200%) = blows in 0.5-5 seconds; 25A (500%) = blows in 0.05-0.2 seconds. The ceramic body (vs glass) provides better arc-quenching capability and mechanical strength, and prevents the fuse from shattering during a high-current fault. The breaking capacity is 100A at 250VAC, meaning it can safely interrupt a fault current of 100A without arcing or fire. The MRL suffix specifies the time-lag (slow-blow) characteristic per IEC 60127-2 Sheet III. The cold resistance is approximately 50mOhm, resulting in 1.25W power dissipation at rated current (5A x 5A x 0.05 = 1.25W). The 5x20mm form factor is the most common fuse size in IEC-standard equipment, found in power supplies, instrument panels, and consumer electronics. Installation requires a fuse holder (clip or screw-type) rated for the same voltage and current.
