Capacitors

Capacitors are passive components made of two conductive plates separated by a dielectric. They store and release charge, with capacitance measured in Farads and its sub – units like μF, nF, and pF. Capacitors work by building an electric field between plates to hold energy.
They serve multiple functions. In power and signal circuits, they filter out unwanted frequencies, making power smooth and signals clean. In amplifier set – ups, capacitors couple AC signals while isolating DC, enabling signal transfer without DC interference. Their energy – storage capacity powers short – term high – demand events like camera flashes or acts as a backup during power glitches. Capacitors in RC circuits offer timing capabilities for controlling events, and in LC circuits, they help tune into specific frequencies in radio – related applications.
