The ATmega48-20AU from Microchip is a low-power CMOS 8-bit microcontroller based on the AVR enhanced RISC architecture. By executing powerful instructions in a single clock cycle, the device achieves throughputs approaching 1 MIPS per MHz. The ATmega48 provides 4KB of In-System Programmable Flash, 512 bytes of SRAM, and 256 bytes of EEPROM. The 8-channel 10-bit ADC and 6 PWM channels support mixed-signal control applications. Communication interfaces include a programmable USART, Master/Slave SPI, and Two-wire Serial Interface (I2C-compatible). The debugWIRE interface enables on-chip debugging using only the RESET pin.
