The W25Q64FVSSIG from Winbond is a 64Mbit (8MB) Serial NOR Flash memory with standard, dual, and quad SPI interfaces in SOIC-8. The 80MHz single SPI clock combined with Quad I/O mode delivers up to 320Mbps throughput, enabling XIP (execute-in-place) operation without shadow RAM. The 4KB uniform sector architecture with 32KB and 64KB block erase options provides flexible storage management. The SSIG suffix denotes SOIC-8 200mil package with industrial temperature range.

The W25Q64FVSSIG operates as a multi-I/O Serial NOR Flash. (1) The SPI interface supports Standard (1-1-1), Dual Output (1-1-2), Dual I/O (1-2-2), Quad Output (1-1-4), Quad I/O (1-4-4), and QPI (4-4-4) modes. In QPI mode, all instructions, addresses, and data use 4 pins at 80MHz, providing 320Mbps sustained throughput for XIP code execution. (2) Memory organization uses 2048 uniform 4KB sectors, with 64KB and 32KB block erase for faster bulk operations. The 256-byte page buffer supports page-program in 0.7ms typical. Sector erase takes 45ms, block erase 120-150ms, and chip erase 20s typical. (3) The three 256-byte security registers provide OTP (one-time programmable) storage for unique IDs, encryption keys, or calibration data. Each register can be individually locked after programming. The deep power-down mode reduces current to 5uA for battery-powered applications.
