The TLE4291EXUMA2 is a 5V 40mA low-dropout voltage regulator from Infineon in PG-TSOP-8, qualified for automotive applications (AEC-Q100). The device is designed for 12V and 24V automotive electrical systems, with 40V maximum input voltage (surviving load-dump transients up to 40V when protected by an external TVS). The dropout voltage is 200mV at 10mA, allowing operation with VIN as low as 5.2V. The quiescent current is 250uA at no load. The device features: (1) Reverse polarity protection: the internal circuitry withstands negative input voltage down to -42V without damage; (2) Overtemperature shutdown at 175C junction; (3) Short-circuit current limit at 80mA; (4) Enable pin with internal pull-up (device is ON when EN is floating). The output is stable with a 10uF ceramic capacitor (X5R or X7R). The PG-TSOP-8 package provides exposed pad for thermal dissipation. The -EXUMA2 suffix specifies automotive temperature (-40C to +150C), PG-TSOP-8 tape-and-reel. The device is used in automotive ECU power supplies, sensor interfaces, and CAN/LIN transceiver power rails.
