The STM8S105C4T6TR is a STMicroelectronics STM8S series 8-bit microcontroller in a 48-pin LQFP package. The 16MHz STM8 core with Harvard architecture and 3-stage pipeline delivers efficient instruction execution. The 16KB Flash program memory stores application code with 20-year data retention, while the 1KB true data EEPROM (300k cycle endurance) provides non-volatile storage for calibration and configuration parameters without Flash wear concerns. The 1KB SRAM supports runtime data and stack operations. The 10-bit ADC with 10 multiplexed channels and scan mode handles multi-channel analog acquisition. Communication interfaces include UART with SmartCard/IrDA/LIN support, SPI up to 8Mbit/s, and I2C up to 400kbit/s. The advanced 16-bit TIM1 timer provides 4 CAPCOM channels with 3 complementary outputs and dead-time insertion for motor control. Two general-purpose 16-bit timers handle PWM and input capture. The clock security system detects crystal failure and automatically switches to the internal RC oscillator. The SWIM (Single Wire Interface Module) provides single-pin debug and programming access. Packaged in LQFP-48 rated for -40C to +85C.

The STM8 core uses a Harvard architecture with separate program and data buses, allowing simultaneous instruction fetch and data access. The 3-stage pipeline (fetch, decode, execute) achieves one instruction per clock cycle throughput for most instructions. The extended instruction set (49 instructions with 16 stack levels) provides efficient C compiler support. Four clock sources are available: external crystal (1-16MHz), external clock, internal 16MHz RC (user-trimmable to +/-1%), and internal 128kHz RC. The clock controller manages safe clock switching and the clock security system (CSS) that detects HSE failure and triggers an automatic switchover to the internal RC. The power management unit supports Wait, Active-Halt, and Halt low-power modes. The nested interrupt controller handles 32 interrupts with 6 external interrupt vectors. The Flash memory supports in-application programming (IAP) for firmware updates. The EEPROM is byte-erasable with hardware block write protection. The ADC uses a successive approximation architecture with configurable sample time per channel.
