The STM32L052K6U6 is an ultra-low-power microcontroller from STMicroelectronics based on the ARM Cortex-M0+ 32-bit RISC core operating at up to 32 MHz. It integrates 32KB Flash with ECC, 8KB SRAM, and a unique 2KB data EEPROM with ECC. The device features a crystal-less USB 2.0 interface with battery charging detection and Link Power Management, a 12-bit 1.14 Msps ADC with hardware oversampling, a 12-bit DAC, two ultra-low-power comparators, and up to 24 capacitive touch sensing channels. Multiple communication interfaces include 2 USARTs, 1 LPUART, 2 I2C, and SPI. Ultra-low-power modes achieve 0.27 µA standby and 0.4 µA stop current with sub-5 µs wakeup.

The STM32L052K6U6 is built on ST ultra-low-power platform with optimized power management. The Cortex-M0+ core executes Thumb instructions at 0.95 DMIPS/MHz with a 2-stage pipeline and optional MPU for memory protection. The voltage regulator adapts internally to minimize power consumption across the 1.65-3.6V range. Multiple clock sources include a 16 MHz HSI RC (plus or minus 1%), a 37 kHz LSI, and a multi-speed MSI (65 kHz to 4.2 MHz) that can be trimmed using LSE. The USB interface uses an internal 48 MHz RC oscillator calibrated from USB SOF packets, eliminating the need for an external crystal. Low-power modes progressively disable clock domains: Stop mode keeps SRAM and registers while stopping the CPU clock (0.4 µA); Standby mode powers down everything except the RTC and backup registers (0.27 µA). The on-chip EEPROM uses a charge pump for write/erase operations, providing byte-level write capability without Flash page-erase overhead.
