The STM32F105VCT6 from STMicroelectronics is a Connectivity line ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller running at 72MHz with 256KB Flash and 64KB SRAM in a 100-pin LQFP package. The suffix VCT6 decodes as: V=100 pins, C=256KB Flash, T=LQFP package, 6=-40 to +85C industrial temperature. Unlike the mainstream STM32F103, the F105 Connectivity line adds dual CAN 2.0B controllers with 512B dedicated SRAM, USB 2.0 Full-Speed OTG controller with on-chip PHY, and dual 12-bit DACs. The F107 variant further adds Ethernet MAC. This makes the F105 ideal for industrial communication gateways requiring simultaneous CAN and USB connectivity.

The STM32F105 operates through five subsystems: (1) Cortex-M3 Core: A 3-stage pipeline 32-bit RISC processor running at 72MHz with hardware multiply and divide, NVIC for 60 maskable interrupts, and 16 priority levels. (2) Memory Bus Matrix: Multi-AHB bus system with 12-channel DMA allowing concurrent peripheral-to-memory transfers without CPU intervention. (3) CAN Controllers: Two CAN 2.0B active controllers with dedicated 512-byte SRAM support up to 1Mbps with hardware message filtering and time-triggered communication. (4) USB OTG: A Full-Speed USB 2.0 OTG controller with on-chip PHY supports device, host, and OTG modes with HNP/SRP protocol. The 1.25KB dedicated SRAM stores endpoint buffers. (5) Analog Peripherals: Dual 12-bit ADCs can operate in interleaved mode for 2 MSPS, while dual 12-bit DACs provide analog output capability for waveform generation.
