The NTB0104BQ-Q100X is an NXP AEC-Q100 qualified 4-bit dual-supply voltage level translator with auto-direction sensing and 3-state outputs. It enables bidirectional translation between any low-voltage nodes from 1.2V to 5.0V (VCC(A): 1.2-3.6V, VCC(B): 1.65-5.5V) at up to 100MHz bandwidth. The auto-direction sensing eliminates the need for a direction control pin, simplifying PCB layout. Features include I_OFF partial power-down support, 15kV HBM ESD on the B port, 3.5μA quiescent current, and OE pin for bus isolation. Available in DHVQFN-14 (2.5x3mm) package.

The NTB0104BQ-Q100X uses a one-shot enhanced auto-direction sensing architecture. Each channel monitors both the A and B ports for transitions. When a low-to-high or high-to-low transition is detected on one side, the device activates the corresponding driver on the opposite side and fires a one-shot pulse to accelerate the edge. After the transition, the device returns to a high-impedance monitoring state, ready for the next edge from either direction. This auto-direction sensing eliminates the need for a direction control signal, making the device transparent to the bus protocol. The OE pin, when asserted low, places all outputs in a high-impedance 3-state condition, allowing bus isolation during system power-up or diagnostics. The I_OFF circuitry ensures that when either supply is removed, the outputs are disabled and no damaging backflow current flows through the device.
