C0G dielectric exhibits zero capacitance change with applied voltage, no aging effect, and ±30ppm/°C temperature stability from -55°C to +125°C. The C0805C221J5GAC operates as a multilayer ceramic capacitor using C0G (NP0) Class I dielectric. The C0G formulation is based on a paraelectric ceramic system that does not exhibit spontaneous polarization, resulting in zero voltage coefficient (capacitance unchanged with DC bias), no piezoelectric effect (no microphonic noise generation), and no aging (no capacitance decay over time). The temperature coefficient is 0 ±30ppm/°C, making it the most temperature-stable dielectric formulation available. The 220pF capacitance is achieved by stacking multiple thin ceramic layers with interleaving inner electrodes in the 0805 footprint. The Ni/Sn termination with nickel barrier prevents leaching during soldering and provides reliable solder joints. The ±5% tolerance provides tighter capacitance control than the standard ±10% for C0G, important for resonant and timing circuits.
