The MX25L12845EMI-10G is a high-density 128Mbit Serial Multi-I/O NOR Flash memory from Macronix, designed for reliable code storage and data logging in embedded applications. It supports single, dual, and quad SPI interfaces, enabling flexible system design with bandwidth scaling up to 416Mbps in quad mode. The device features 4096 uniform 4KB sectors, 512 blocks of 32KB, and 256 blocks of 64KB, providing versatile erase granularity. With a wide operating voltage range of 2.7V to 3.6V and industrial temperature rating from -40°C to 85°C, it is suitable for demanding environments. The 100,000 write/erase cycle endurance and 20-year data retention ensure long-term reliability.

The MX25L12845E operates through a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) supporting Mode 0 and Mode 3. In single I/O mode, data is transferred serially on the SI pin at up to 104MHz. Dual and quad I/O modes leverage two or four data lines simultaneously, quadrupling throughput. Internally, the memory array is organized as 128M x 1 / 64M x 2 / 32M x 4 bits. Write operations are page-based (256 bytes), with automatic erase-before-write capability. The on-chip write-protect mechanism locks sectors or blocks via hardware WP pin or software status register bits, preventing accidental data corruption.
