The integrated 4mΩ ground-sensing resistor and adjustable two-level CC limit enable precise USB current management. Features include ground-to-battery short protection, spread spectrum for EMI, LDO mode for cold-crank, and wettable flank QFN-25 package for automotive solder inspection.

The MPQ4483GV-AEC1-Z operates as a synchronous buck converter with integrated USB charging intelligence. The 25mΩ/20mΩ MOSFET pair switches at 200kHz-2.2MHz to regulate the output voltage. The integrated 4mΩ ground-sensing resistor provides accurate output current measurement for CC limit functionality. The USB mode detection logic automatically identifies the connected device type and configures the D+/D- data pins for BC 1.2 DCP, CDP, Apple Divider, or 1.2V/1.2V modes. The bidirectional USB 2.0 data switch routes high-speed data signals between the USB port and the host controller. The adjustable two-level CC limit allows different current thresholds for normal and high-power charging. Ground-to-battery short protection detects and protects against fault conditions where the ground connection is shorted to battery voltage. The spread spectrum function dithers the switching frequency around 450kHz to reduce peak EMI emissions.
