The MAX5741AUB+ from Analog Devices is an 8-channel, 8-bit voltage output DAC offering rail-to-rail output buffering and high-speed SPI communication up to 30MHz. Packaged in a compact µMAX-8 (3x3mm) footprint, it provides 8 independent DAC channels with ±0.5LSB DNL, making it ideal for multi-channel analog control in space-constrained applications. The 8µs settling time and 30MHz SPI interface support fast dynamic updates in real-time control loops.

The MAX5741AUB+ uses an R-2R resistor ladder network for each of the 8 DAC channels. The 8-bit digital code selects the tap position on the ladder, generating a proportional voltage at the ladder output. Each channel includes an output buffer amplifier that provides rail-to-rail output swing and low output impedance for driving external loads. The SPI interface receives 16-bit data words (8 bits address/channel select + 8 bits data) at clock rates up to 30MHz. A double-buffered input structure allows simultaneous update of all channels when the LDAC pin is asserted.
