The CS5532-ASZ is the standard grade (A-grade) version of the Cirrus Logic CS5532 24-bit delta-sigma ADC with chopper-stabilized instrumentation amplifier in a 20-lead SSOP package. The A-grade provides standard accuracy specifications suitable for most weight scale and industrial measurement applications at a lower cost than the B-grade. The two differential input channels with programmable gain amplifier (PGA gains 1x to 64x) enable direct connection of bridge sensors without external signal conditioning. The chopper-stabilized architecture dramatically reduces input offset drift, eliminating the need for external auto-zero circuits. Data rates from 7.5SPS to 3840SPS are programmable through the SPI interface. Self-calibration and system calibration routines correct offset and gain errors, storing coefficients in on-chip registers. The device operates from +/-5V dual supplies for bipolar input measurement. The CS5532-ASZ provides the same features and pinout as the -BSZ with relaxed initial accuracy specifications at a reduced price point. Packaged in 20-lead SSOP rated for -40C to +85C.

The CS5532-ASZ operates identically to the CS5532-BSZ with the same fourth-order delta-sigma modulator, chopper-stabilized input stage, PGA, digital decimation filter, and SPI interface. The A-grade differs from B-grade only in the tested accuracy specifications after manufacturing, with the same silicon and architecture. The chopper technique alternately swaps the input amplifier polarity, converting DC offset to AC that is removed by the digital filter. The PGA amplifies the input before the modulator. The decimation filter produces 24-bit output at the selected data rate. Self-calibration applies internal zero and full-scale references to measure and correct offset and gain. System calibration applies user-provided reference inputs for absolute accuracy in the end application. The SPI interface writes configuration and reads conversion results with 24-bit data width.
