AC-DC Converters

AC – DC converters change alternating current to direct current. They’re vital as most electronics need DC, while mains supply is AC.
These converters perform multiple key functions. Voltage conversion can step – down high – voltage AC for common devices like phone chargers or step – up for special applications. Rectification, in forms like half – wave, full – wave, or bridge rectification, transforms AC into DC, with bridge rectification being widely used. Filtering, using capacitors and inductors, smooths the rectified DC to reduce voltage ripples. And voltage regulation ensures the output DC remains stable despite input voltage or load changes, which is essential for proper electronic device operation.
