The C8051F340-GQR from Silicon Labs is a fully integrated mixed-signal USB MCU featuring an on-board USB 2.0 function controller with integrated transceiver and on-chip clock recovery. No external resistors, crystal, or voltage regulator are required for USB applications. The device includes a high-speed 8051 core achieving 48 MIPS, 64KB ISP Flash, 4352 bytes RAM, a 10-bit 17-channel 200 ksps ADC, 2 comparators, and 40 GPIO pins (all 5V tolerant). With SPI, I2C/SMBus, dual UARTs, and an external memory interface, it provides comprehensive connectivity in a 48-pin LQFP package.

The C8051F340-GQR integrates a USB 2.0 function controller with the 8051 MCU core. The USB controller handles all protocol layers including packet formatting, CRC generation/checking, and endpoint management using 1KB of dedicated FIFO RAM across 8 configurable endpoints. The integrated clock recovery circuit derives the 48 MHz USB clock from the USB bus signal, eliminating the need for an external crystal. The 10-bit SAR ADC uses a 17-channel analog multiplexer with programmable acquisition time. The pipelined 8051 core achieves single-clock execution for most instructions.
